Can you buy real Instagram followers?
Honestly, no, not in the way the phrase suggests. Here’s what a follower package really delivers, what “real” usually means on other sites, and how to reach actual people if that’s what you need.
Updated 19 October 2026
The short answer
Not in the sense most people mean. If “real” means people who chose to follow you because they like what you post, those can’t be bought from anyone, us included. What you can buy is a higher follower count. We sell that, and we call it that.
Why we won’t use the word
Search for this phrase and you’ll find pages promising “100% real, active UK followers” for the price of a sandwich. Think about what that would require: thousands of genuine people, in a particular country, agreeing to follow strangers and keep following them, for a fraction of a penny each. It doesn’t add up, and the claim usually falls apart within a week of the order.
Our follower packages come from marketing panels that supply accounts at scale. Some of those accounts have photos and posts and look like ordinary profiles. Plenty are quiet. They won’t reliably engage with you, and Instagram removes some of them over time because it treats them as inauthentic. That’s why we include a 30-day refill, and why you’ll never see us describe them as real, active or local.
What a bought follower is, and isn’t
It helps to be precise. A follower you buy from us is:
- An Instagram account that follows yours and adds one to the number on your profile.
- Delivered in paced batches, starting within minutes of payment.
- Covered by a free top-up if the count drops within 30 days of delivery finishing.
It isn’t:
- A person who chose your account. Nobody on the other end has seen your posts and decided they like them.
- Engagement. Don’t expect likes, comments, saves, shares or story views from bought followers.
- A customer, a fan or someone in your area. We don’t sell followers from any particular country.
- Permanent. Instagram removes accounts it considers inauthentic, and it does so continuously.
Put like that, a package is a narrow tool. That’s fine, as long as you buy it for the narrow job it does.
What “real” tends to mean on other sites
When a seller says real, it usually means one of these, so it’s worth asking which:
- “Has a profile picture and some posts.” A step up from blank accounts, but not a person who cares about your content.
- “Won’t disappear.” Nobody can promise that. Instagram decides what stays.
- “Will like and comment.” Sometimes delivered as a separate, scripted service. It’s rarely convincing and it’s the sort of activity platforms look for.
- “From your country.” Very hard to deliver honestly at low prices, and almost impossible for you to check.
Other words to read carefully
| The claim | What to ask |
|---|---|
| “Active followers” | Active doing what? If they’ll like and comment, how, and would Instagram see that as genuine? |
| “Organic followers” | Organic means people who found you themselves. If you’re paying per follower, it isn’t that. |
| “Targeted” or “niche” followers | Targeted by whom, using what? Real targeting by area and interest exists, inside Instagram’s own ads. |
| “Non-drop” or “lifetime guarantee” | What happens on day 31, and how do I claim? No seller controls what Instagram removes. |
| “Premium” or “high quality” | Compared with what, and how could I check? Our guide to cheap versus better followers covers what a price difference actually buys. |
How to see what you actually got
You can check any account’s followers, including your own after an order. Open the followers list and look at a sample of twenty or thirty profiles: no posts, no profile picture, a username that’s mostly numbers, or an account following thousands of people while being followed by a handful are the usual signs of accounts that aren’t run by an interested person. Expect a share of any bought followers, ours included, to look like that. The same check works on an influencer or a business you’re thinking of working with. Our guide on how to spot fake followers goes through the signs in detail, including what engagement patterns give away.
If you want actual people
Then the routes are slower, and they work:
- Paid promotion inside Instagram. Boosting a post puts it in front of real users you target by area and interest, including just your town or region. It costs more per follower than a package, but they’re people.
- Collaborations. A joint reel or a collab post with a nearby business or creator puts you in front of an audience that already trusts them.
- Reels made for strangers. Reels are how Instagram shows accounts to people who don’t follow them yet. Open with the payoff, not the build-up.
- Showing up locally. Tagging your location, featuring local customers and joining in with your area’s accounts all help, especially for UK small businesses.
Setting up a boosted post
For a UK small business this is the most direct way to put a post in front of actual people. From a professional account, choose a post that already does well with your followers, tap Boost, and pick the goal of more profile visits. Set the audience yourself rather than accepting the automatic one: a radius around your town or postcode, an age range that matches your customers, and two or three interests that fit what you sell. Start with a small daily budget for a week, then look at how many profile visits and follows it produced and whether any of them messaged you. Stop or change it if the numbers don’t justify the spend.
Turning customers into followers
The people most likely to follow and engage are the ones who already buy from you. A QR code by the till or on the menu, your handle on receipts and in your email signature, and a line at the end of a booking confirmation all cost nothing. A Leeds café that asks “follow us for the weekend specials” at the counter is building exactly the audience a package can’t.
Our organic growth guide covers each of these properly.
Where a package fits
A follower package is a shortcut for one specific problem: a profile whose number undersells it. If your page looks empty to new visitors, a package fixes the look of it quickly, and the organic work above does the rest. If you need customers, conversations or reach, a package won’t provide them on its own.
| Instagram followers | Price | Per 1,000 |
|---|---|---|
| 250 followers | $5.99 | $23.96 |
| 1,000 followers | $13.99 | $13.99 |
| 5,000 followers | $34.99 | $7.00 |
Prices are in US dollars. Your card provider converts the total to pounds when you pay, and any foreign-exchange fee depends on your card.
