Why four figures matters more than it should
Nothing inside Instagram changes at 1,000 followers. No button appears and the algorithm doesn’t treat you differently. What changes is the reading people take at a glance: three digits feels like someone starting out, four feels like an account other people have chosen. It’s a crude judgement, but it’s the one most visitors make in the second or two before they decide whether to follow, enquire or move on.
That’s why 1,000 is the size we suggest most often. It takes most small accounts over the line without overshooting.
What $13.99 buys
1,000 followers added to one public Instagram profile, at about 1.4¢ each. Here’s how it compares with buying the same total in smaller pieces, or stepping up a size:
| Route to 1,000 or more | Cost | Per 1,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Ten orders of 100 | $39.90 | $39.90 |
| Two orders of 500 | $19.98 | $19.98 |
| One order of 1,000 | $13.99 | $13.99 |
| One order of 2,500 | $22.99 | $9.20 |
Prices are in US dollars. Your card provider converts the total to pounds when you pay, and any foreign-exchange fee depends on your card.
Splitting into two 500s costs $5.99 more but lets you space the growth out over a couple of weeks, which some people prefer for a very new account.
Is 1,000 the right size for you?
You have fewer than 150 followers
1,000 would multiply the account several times over. That can work if the grid already has a dozen or more decent posts. If it’s thin, start with 250 or 500 and come back later. An account that’s only a few weeks old has its own checklist on our page about followers for a brand-new account.
You’re somewhere between 300 and 900
This is where 1,000 fits best. You’ll land comfortably past the four-figure mark with enough margin that a little drop-off won’t pull you back under.
You’re already past 2,000
Then 1,000 is a top-up of half or less, which looks entirely ordinary. If you want a bigger visible change, 2,500 costs $22.99 and 5,000 is $34.99.
Get the profile ready for four figures
Visitors expect a profile at 1,000 followers to look lived in. Before ordering, check yours against what an account of that size usually has:
- At least a dozen posts. Four full rows of the grid, so the follower count doesn’t dwarf the content.
- Something from the last fortnight. A thousand followers arriving on an account that went quiet in the spring look odd.
- A clear picture and bio. Who you are, what you do and where, plus a link that goes somewhere useful.
- Recent posts out of single figures. If your last three posts have six likes each, 100 likes on each of the two newest costs $4.98, about a third of the follower package, and stops the gap looking strange.
For a shop, salon or café there’s more to fix than this, including what not to say about the number in your marketing; the page on Instagram followers for small businesses covers it.
A worked example: a Belfast hairdresser
A hairdresser in Belfast has 620 followers and her posts average about 40 likes. After a 1,000 order she’s at 1,620. Her posts still get around 40 likes, so engagement measured against followers falls from about 6.5% to about 2.5%. Nothing has gone wrong; it’s the same likes divided by a bigger number, and it’s the reason a jump of this size suits accounts that already post regularly.
To keep the post visitors see first in step, she adds 100 likes for $2.49 to the colour she posts on the day the order lands. That takes it to roughly 140 likes, around 9% of her new follower count: one of her better posts rather than an outlier. Total spend: $16.48. If she’d been at 80 followers instead, the same order would have multiplied the account more than thirteen times, which is why we’d have pointed her at 250 first.
Delivery time
The first followers usually appear a few minutes after you pay. The rest come through in batches and a 1,000 order typically finishes the same day. Keep the profile public and the username unchanged until it’s done; either change can stall the order.
1,000 Instagram followers is selected. Enter your username in the order box and check the preview shows the right profile.
Go to the order boxAfter it lands
A jump to 1,000 followers draws more eyes to your recent posts, so make sure they’re worth looking at. Post something new on the day, pin your three best posts, and consider a small likes package on your newest one so the like count isn’t wildly out of step with the follower count. Your engagement rate will dip a little after any follower jump; that’s arithmetic rather than a warning sign, and our calculator shows you by how much.
If the count drops within 30 days of delivery finishing, email support@followersgain.co.uk with your order reference and we’ll refill it.
Mistakes that spoil a 1,000 order
- Ordering again because the first looks slow. Delivery is paced on purpose. A second order on top creates exactly the spike the pacing avoids; check back that evening or email us instead.
- Rebranding mid-delivery. Changing the handle once followers start arriving stalls the rest. Rename before you order or after it finishes.
- Going private to see who’s arriving. A private profile stops delivery until it’s public again.
- Buying for an account you’ve stopped posting on. A rising count over a grid that hasn’t changed since summer reads as bought.
1,000 on Instagram versus 1,000 on TikTok
The same number does different jobs on the two apps. On Instagram, 1,000 is purely about how the profile looks. TikTok has tied some features, LIVE in particular, to a 1,000-follower threshold, though it has varied that requirement by region, so check in the app what applies to your account. TikTok’s 1,000 package is $14.99, a dollar more than Instagram’s; the 1,000 TikTok followers page covers that side.
